As part of the monthly update of the ExportPlanning Information System (covering world trade for more than 5,500 products, 3,000 strategic business areas, 220 sectors and 20 industries), the June 2026 data point to a significant acceleration in the growth trend of world trade in Fashion/Personal Care products1.
June data show an improvement in world sales of the Fashion/Personal Care industry...
In June, world trade in the Fashion/Personal Care System grew by 3% in dollar terms, corresponding to a change in real terms (at constant prices)2 of 3.3 percentage points.
This therefore represents an acceleration — still to be confirmed in the coming months — compared with the (admittedly mild) growth pace of the first half of the year: over the January–June 2026 period, real year-on-year growth came in at just +0.4% in dollar values (-0.3% at constant prices), confirming a trend only slightly more favorable than the 2025 average (-1.3% at constant prices).
...compared with a still-weak start to the year,
only slightly better than the 2025 average.

Conclusions
The June data confirm an evolving picture for world sales of the Fashion/Personal Care industry: the year-on-year improvement recorded in the month, if confirmed by the coming data releases, could mark a turning point relative to the widespread weakness that characterized the early part of the year.
However, significant heterogeneity between sectors remains: on one hand, sectors such as sports goods, musical instruments, bicycles, perfumes and cosmetics show a solid, structural dynamic, while on the other, sectors such as footwear continue to face more persistent difficulties, despite some tentative signs of easing.
In a context still marked by high month-to-month variability — as demonstrated by the case of underwear and hosiery, whose cumulative result remains negative despite a positive monthly figure — it becomes crucial for exporting companies to be able to rely on granular monitoring tools, capable of distinguishing the dynamics of individual markets and products.
With the aim of enabling constant monitoring of key foreign markets at a product-specific level, ExportPlanning offers the Customs Declarations Database service, an "on-demand" supply of monthly market data, customizable at the level of customs codes and markets of interest.
In this sense, ExportPlanning's Customs Declaration Database service makes it possible to continuously track the evolution of trade flows at the level of customs code and destination market, supporting strategic decisions in a still-uncertain international environment.

2) In the World Trade Dataset of the ExportPlanning Information System, the measure Quantities at constant prices (Q) has been constructed. This measure incorporates a deflation process, whereby the historical series of monetary values (V) has been transformed into a corresponding series expressed at constant prices, with reference to a specific year, known as the base year. For a description of the methodology applied, see the Methodological Note of the World Trade Dataset.
